Another FF Prolific question
#2
(02-24-2026, 05:30 PM)[email protected] Wrote: Hello! We originally connected the Prolific to Qaultrics which enabled us to see the ID that Prolific automatically generated. But when participants went from Qualtrics to Prolicific, that's where the login issue popped up. So, if I understandcorrectly,  if we connect FF to Prolific first, that solves the login issue. But how do we get the ID on FF? Because we still need them to fill out the Qualtrics survey, and the PID is what we would use to match them up. So my main issue is tracking the participants across 3 different platforms.

What also confuses me is that Prolific seems to believe there is no integration. They said that Finding Five is not listed among current survey integrations. All help and screenshots would be appreciated! In a perfect world, the study would go:
recruited on Prolific, which leads them to Qualtrics, where they get assigned a PID. Then they are directed to FF to put in an access code, and do not have to give out any personal info/login. They input their PID, which they got from Qaultrics into the Finding Five portion at the start.

If that is not possible, I would love to know. Thank you again for your quick response and help!

Hello again!

So we have a dedicated integration with Prolific (not Qualtrics). That means that, if you recruit participants on Prolific, they can then participate in research directly on FindingFive without any need for them to create an account or provide login or completion code information,  etc. However, if your participant workflow is Prolific > Qualtrics > FindingFive, that integration will not serve you.

That said, we do have an option to recruit participants "From Anywhere (no sign-up required)". Just select "+ Recruit" from within the study editor and choose the From Anywhere option (screenshot attached).

You can use this to ensure that participants do not have to sign up for accounts on FindingFive or share any other personal information. You can then create a link to access the study session, which you can embed in your Qualtrics survey.

A few caveats about this option:
  1. Since participants do not sign up with us, we cannot track participation prerequisites or anti-prerequisites. We can detect and prevent some instances of the same participant attempting to join the same study more than once, but otherwise things like inclusion and exclusion criteria cannot be enforced on our end whatsoever.
  2. We cannot trace participant identities for you with this method. As you noted, participants would have to manually input their PID as a text response somewhere in your FindingFive experiment. If that same PID is also connected to their data in Qualtrics and their participation record on Prolific, then you can link them up across platforms.
If I'm not mistaken, this aligns precisely with your ideal workflow. Let me know if I've misunderstood anything!
