early exit or pause option during testing? - [email protected] - 11-16-2020

Hi,
I am creating my own experiment in Finding Five, wondering if there is any function to save data EVEN IF any participants pause the testing and/or exit in middle of the testing. We are going to test older adults so we need to consider what else we could incorporate in the task design and wonder if Finding Five can support the function. Thank you.

Hello! FindingFive does not keep the data if participants exit the study before completing it. For a study design where participants may become fatigued and wish to exit the study before the end, some researchers have been implementing conditional branching with a choice response where participants can choose to keep going or exit the experiment at a certain point. In this design, data from participants who select the exit option are still saved. See this forum post for more info: https://discuss.findingfive.com/showthread.php?tid=8 and see our procedure documentation for info about conditional branching: https://help.findingfive.com/api/procedures.html
