network error in the result file - Zhe Gao - 02-23-2021

Hi,
I conducted a translation judgement task which required participants to judge whether the translations for Mandarin words were correct. In the cvs file of the results, I found several stimuli showed 2 in the network_error_repeat column. I wonder what I should do with this group of data.
Thanks!
Zhe

Hi Zhe!

The network_error_repeat column tells you whether the results for that particular trial were successfully sent to the server. Typically, you should see a long list of zeros here. However, for the stimuli that had a 2 in that column, you should be careful in interpreting the results for that trial. It's possible that the participant's internet cut out during that trial or that the responses were submitted to the server more than once.

Let me know if you have any questions!
Grace
